Every number, its source, and its date.
This page lists every tax, retirement, and benefit figure we cite, each one paired with the primary source it comes from and the date we last checked it against that source. It is our editorial standard for showing our work, so you can follow any number back to where it came from and check it yourself.
Most recently checked on July 17, 2026. Each figure below carries its own last-checked date, so this is the latest of those, not a claim that every figure was checked that day. When a source publishes an update, we update the figure and move its date with it.

What this page is. A list that maps each cited figure to its primary source and the date we last checked it. It reads directly from the figures the site uses, so a number here is the same number a lesson or tool shows.
What it is not. This is not a claim that every figure is correct or up to date, and it is not a record of corrections. Figures change, and a source can publish a new value after our last check. Confirm any number against its linked primary source before you rely on it. When we find an error, the fix and the reason are logged on the errata page.
Education only. Nothing here is investment, tax, or legal advice.
Some figures are held off this page on purpose: volatile items still awaiting a confirmed effective date are not listed until their primary source is pinned. The counts above reflect only what is currently listed.
